The Responder - S

The Responder - S

The Responder™ is available in three models; the Responder-S™, which is a portable water filtration unit that runs on solar power, external battery, A/C, or cigarette lighter, the Responder-B™ that is identical to the “S” model, but does not have solar power capability, and the Responder-T™ that is permanently mounted to a water source such as a fire truck or tanker. The systems all contain a 45 psi self-priming pump that pulls water from any available source of salt free water, such as low pressure water mains, swimming pools, wells, surface water, swamps, etc. All Responders™ produce up to 60 gallons per hour of cleaner, safer drinking and decontamination water.

The solar panel of the Responder-S™ attaches to the back of the wheeled military-spec carrying case and just plugs into the on-board battery. The Responder-S™ and Responder-B™ both feature alligator clips for an external 12 Volt battery, or you can optionally use an included vehicle cigarette lighter adapter. The power source for the Responder-T™ is the particular vehicles battery and the intake hose is twenty-foot long for insertion into the apparatus water tank. All units additionally feature a sprayer to facilitate showering, misting (for lowering body temperature), and decontamination. The included 6 amp DC/AC converter easily plugs either model into common wall receptacles to enable 24/7 operation.

Like all First Water systems, the Responder™ is intended for short term emergency use only. Source water for cleaning should come from sources that have been previously through a municipal purification plant, such as compromised water mains, fire hydrants, water delivered in fire trucks, therapy/swimming pools, etc. In the unlikely event these sources become exhausted, fountains, boilers, lakes, creeks, rivers or any other salt free water source can be used. If the local Public Health Department requires it, chlorine can be added to the cleaning process to add a residual disinfectant through the innovative Flex-Chlorinator™.

The Responder™ provides very fast, flexible access to emergency water:

  • supports being pre-positioned and then brought out quickly for hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, earthquakes, etc.
  • provides fresh water for personal showering, hydration, decontamination, fire personnel re-hab, medical needs, evacuation and transport support
  • easily adaptable to ice machines, kitchen facilities and food preparation, laundry support, dish washing machines, etc.
  • supports shelters housing several hunderd people
  • being nearly totally black without lights or other intrusive guages, the Responder™ supports covert and sensitive missions
