The Outpost

High capacity for continued critical operations

Semi-Portable Base Camp Water Purification Solution

fireman-outpost-largeThe Outpost™ water purification system comes in two semi-portable models that are powered by either an external AC power supply such as a generator during emergencies, or an integrated solar system and an on-board battery.

The Outpost-12™ produces up to 12 gallons per minute and runs on standard A/C power. It is the recommended model for general water consumption because it can produce thousands of gallons of water every day, and still be easily moved around a facility, or transported wherever needed.

The Outpost-4™ water purification system is completely run off solar power and produces up to 4 gallons per minute, or about 600 gallons per day per battery. Using multiple batteries can also extend the useful amount of water produced. The solar panel is attached to the frame of the unit and folds down for transporting.

Like all First Water systems, the Outpost™ is intended for short term emergency use only. Source water for cleaning should come from sources that have been previously through a municipal purification plant, such as compromised water mains, fire hydrants, water delivered in fire trucks, therapy/swimming pools, etc. In the unlikely event these sources become exhausted, fountains, boilers, lakes, creeks, rivers or any other salt-free water source can be used. If the local Public Health Department requires it, chlorine can be added to the cleaning process to add a residual disinfectant through the innovative Flex-Chlorinator™.

The aluminum frame of the Outpost™ has multiple handles to ease lifting the unit, and has been sized so that it can fit into the back of a pickup truck, SUV, or similar vehicle. The unit also features run-flat wheels that enable it to be moved by one person over virtually any surface. The Outpost™ contains a self-priming pump that pulls water from the available water source and a patented automatic fail-safe shut-off that shuts the system down if there is any failure of the UV bulb or wiring. First Water is the only emergency water system available with this important safety feature.  The Outpost™ water purification system is a perfect fit for hospitals and clinics, emergency operations centers, shelters or anywhere that some portability and a greater flow of water are desirable.
