Emergency Water Purification for Hospitals

Hospital Water Contingency Planning

water purification for emergency roomFirst Water has designed total solutions for all facets of health care that incorporate frontline water purification, storage and distribution. Acute care facilities, nursing homes, assisted living homes, retirement centers, hospices, dialysis centers and rehabilitation centers all have a need to maintain operations when water emergencies strike.

Utilizing water from sources like low pressure municipal water lines, wells, swimming or rehabilitation pools and, as a last resort, fountains, boilers, lakes, creeks or any other non-salinated water source, the First Water solutions avoid diversion and provide sustainability.

After deploying solutions to hundreds of hospitals and field clinics, First Water has developed Recommended Hospital Configurations. This quick two page document recommends the types and amounts of products recommended for four different categories of facility based on bed count and surge capacity during emergencies. The first page has a table clearly identifying the types and quantities of products recommended, and the second page has a diagram of how to lay out the products during an emergency and how the individual products work together to provide a complete sustainability solution. These cost effective solutions that require minimal storage space will provide enough water to support the operating requirements identified above. Of course, even with the recommendations, it would be best to contact us to make sure your facility has accounted for its critical needs and operating realities.
