Emergency Management and Fire Response

frontline water for fire response

Portable Systems to Support Operations

firefighter-rainThe First Water line of water filtration products is being implemented by emergency management agencies, fire fighters, search and rescue (USAR), disaster medical assistance teams (DMAT), and wildfire response teams across America. Being designed specifically for these unique needs and priced to fit any budget, the systems will provide for emergency water from virtually any available salt-free water source.

The full line of water filtration products have been used in the following critical functions:

  • Drinking water for citizens and first responders from low pressure fire hydrants, tanker water, compromised water piping systems, wells, swimming pools, swamps, ponds, streams, flooded streets, etc.,
  • Decontamination of equipment, tools, clothing, and personal hygiene,
  • Hydration for wildfire teams in rugged and isolated locations under very mobile conditions,
  • Rehab water for structural and wildfire operations support,
  • Topical cleaning, first aid, and clinical support for forward medical teams.

responder-tAll First Water products have optional integrated solar power capability and can operate without any other power source. If operations are expected to last for extended amounts of time, the portable systems can operate on external 12 volt batteries, vehicle batteries via jump cables, or handy cigarette lighter adapter. All products can additionally operate on A/C current provided by generators or vehicles.

The Responder-T™ is a special product developed exclusively for fire trucks, and actually mounts directly on a fire apparatus holding tank. It therefore goes with the vehicle and can purify and pump the contents of the tanker virtually anywhere. Re-supplying the tank will allow for continuous fresh, clean water as long as necessary.

As the world saw during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and many times since during ice storms, tornadoes, earthquakes and other regional and localized disasters, bottled water is not always available when and where it is needed. As an augment to traditional stockpiling of bottled water, all First Water products can be pre-positioned and available immediately during and after an emergency, regardless of power availability. In addition, with a simple cleaning the systems are reusable and can be deployed event after event.

No matter what the emergency, First Water Systems has the cost effective solution to meet the most basic human need during a crisis – clean water for consumption, decontamination and medical needs. Because of its uniqueness and patents, the systems from First Water are regularly sole sourced at every level of government.
